What is Teatime Thursdays?

We have had several people inquire about Tea Time Thursday. Tea Time Thursday came about because we were finding that out of "routine" we were using the same tea cup day in and day out. What a shame when we have so many pretty ones! So, we decided that on Thursdays we would select a special tea cup and use it for that day...we thought the idea was fun, so wanted to share it with our readers. If you'd like to join us, please let us know on the Wednesday before and we will include a link to your blog link! You don't have to say anything special about the tea cup, just share with us a lovely picture or too...it's supposed to be fun and not a "duty!" Participate when you can...hope to see you there!

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

Teacup Thursday: "A Cup of Christmas Tea"

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
