Teacup Thursday: Lady Sylvia

I think this teacup here speaks of sophistication and elegance… It’s made by Elizabethan. It's name is “Lady Sylvia” and is from their Anniversary Rose Series. I wonder what the other teacups look like in the series!? Do any of you own one?

    I wonder what the other teacups look like in the series!? Do any of you own one?

    I do. It's a coffee mug, is striking different from the cup, and is preferable to me in both function and appearance.

    Alas, while washing dishes I dropped it when moving it to the rinse pan, it hit a dish and developed a hairline crack. I used it for about a year before it developed a bigger crack and stared to leak.

    I started looking for a replacement right away, as I knew it wouldn't last, and I'm still looking. Amazon, eBay, and other online searches.

    Google, ever the eager-beaver listed your blog as soon at I entered +elizabethan +"lady sylvia".

    I'll dig out my old digital camera and post an image if it's working.

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
