Teacup Thursday: "Lady Carlyle" by Miss Spenser
I’ve always admired Royal Albert China. One of my favorite patterns is: “Lady Carlyle” as pink is my favorite color. Earlier this year I found a set for sale online in Cedar Rapids, Iowa! It was a four – 5 piece place setting and included a teapot!

I thought it would be a perfect addiction to my future home someday… Since my Grandparents live there, I begged my Grandpa Cherryholmes to go pick them up for me! Of course, he said yes, but he teased he'd have to charge a "pick-up service fee".

Well, my sweet Grandpa did drive across town and pick the set up for me! After calling and teasing again by saying that "he had broken a few pieces"… he said that the set was really pretty and he thought it looked “very Spenser-like”!

    I fell in love with this pattern the first time I saw it too. I have two teacups. I recently bought a teapot but alas, it's no longer made in England.

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
