Most Romantic/Thoughtful Husband Award

We just couldn't let this one get by us... so we decided to give an award this past Mother's Day for the "Most Romantic/Thoughtful Husband". We received a phone call from, Joe, a few days before Mother's Day requesting a gift certificate to attend our Anne of Green Gables Tea in June for his wife, Carmen, their two daughters, and the daughter's Grandma.  When we were taking the needed reservation information, he was very adamant  that we kept it a secret!

Carmen and her husband were high school sweet hearts and have been married 14 years  as of May 25th of this year ~  Carmen says, "He is the most sweetest, loving, and caring husband. I am truly blessed to have him in my life..." Way to go Joe!

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
