Emerald ~ 2013 Color of the Year

For centuries, Emerald has captivated many people all over the world with its' ability to stand out, add elegance, and speak beauty.

From the Emerald City to Jacqueline's Kennedy's iconic engagement ring. It has been around for quiet some time and in 2013 is making a comeback!

Pantone has named "Emerald ~ the color of 2013"! Every year designers are polled by Pantone to see what color they are turning to and working with to determine the "It' color of the year. Leatrice Eisemann, executive director of Pantone Color Institute says, "Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world. This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors."

"I adore Emerald Green in nature, in home design, in clothing, and in jewelry," says Julia Farr, of Friendship Heights Boutique. Farr encourages women to add an Emerald statement piece to their wardrobe- A Belt, Scarf, Handbag, or piece of Jewelry… "The tone works well with most skin tones and hair color, so it's a color to embrace as we head into 2013.

I had fun looking online to get some ideas of how to incorporate Emerald into my daily living. Hope you enjoy my finds!! (Miss Spenser's has a Pinterest Account Now! Be sure to follow us!)

  3. What a great post! Loved looking at all the "Emerald" images. Amazingly, I never wear green except in March for St. Patrick's Day. Guess I'm going to have to remedy that so I'll be in style in 2013. ;-)

  6. I love emeralds and have two very small ones in a ring, one for each of my children born in May. It is the birth stone for that month. I can just imagine the color emerald would look beautiful on Miss Spenser and on her mom, Donna.

  7. What a gorgeous post!!! The color is magnificant and strong. You found lovely pictures. I always think of Angelina Jolie and those very large emerald drop earrings. Just so happens, I had on my emeralds when I read this post the first time. I was excited. I hadn't worn them in a long time and thought it was so timely to come here and find your post. I looked down at my gems and fit right in. Ha.
Thank you for a super post.

  8. Just beautiful! These images are stunning. I love emeralds and both my engagement ring and my wedding ring are set with lovely emeralds. It is also my birthstone so they make me double happy. Would love to see Spencer wear that bustle gown at the tea room. Thanks for such an inspiring post.

    Have a happy day,
    Mary Jane
