Look at these cute mugs that we just picked up!!  I love strawberries!! When I was a little girl my favorite dessert was Strawberry Shortcake! We lived in California at the time, so you could buy strawberries straight from the field! They are heavenly... there's nothing like California Strawberries!! MmmmMMmm!!

Perfect for a cup of Strawberry Tea don't you think!

    Love strawberries from California, but Oregon strawberries are even better. Cute, cute cups. Right now my favorite was to eat strawberries is cut up over crepes with whip cream on the outside and ricotta cheese on the inside. That was my breakfast today. But my all time favorite is straight off the plant with the warm sunshine shining down and warming them.

    Oh my that brings back memories of the strawberry fields outside Chico, CA we would go to to pick every spring. They were heavenly! I love you strawberry mugs!

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
