Here's another Copeland Grosvenor (click here to view its sister teacup that I shared 2 weeks ago). This teacup is called "Green Duchess". Isn't the little Madam Alexander Doll cute! My mom got this little Irish Lassie when she was a young girl and then gave her to me! Hills as green as emeralds Cover the countryside Lakes as blue as sapphires- And Ireland's special pride And rivers that shine like silver Make Ireland look so fair- But the friendliness of her people Is the richest treasure there . Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! In honor of this 'fine bonney day!' Aunt Mary’s Irish Soda Bread If you can’t trust a Mary Catharine Gallagher for Irish Soda Bread…who can you trust? This is an old Irish Family’s recipe. 4 C Flour 1 C Sugar 1 tsp. Salt 1 TBSP Baking Powder 1 tsp. Baking Soda 1 tsp. Caraway Seeds Buttermilk (1 C, but may need more) 1 Egg ¼ C Butter 1 ½ C Golden Raisins ½ C Currants Aunt Mary used measuring methods such as, fill the sifter full of flour; a good chunk of butter; 2 fist fulls of raisins…(smile) Soak raisins and currants in hot water. Measure flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and caraway seeds into a large mixing bowl; cut in butter until resembles coarse crumbs. Drain water off of fruit; add to flour mixture. Mix egg with 1 C Buttermilk. Pour Buttermilk into the dry ingredients, mix well until everything is wet and starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Add more milk if needed. Can you believe March is here!! This year is already going by so fast! I thought it would be fun to share with you green teacups for this month in honor of St. Patricks Day. This first week's teacup is made Royal Stafford. The framed picture in the background we got at an antique store. I love what is says: God hath not promised skies ever blue, Flowers-strewn pathways always for you. God hath not promised Sun without Rain, Joy withough sorrow, Peace without pain; But He hath promised strength from above, Unfailing Sympathy, Undying Love. This past weekend we had a Free Tea Tasting Event. We had a lot of fun sharing with our guests different varieties of teas and educating them on how to brew tea properly!  We even had a few 'tea converts'!! Here are some picture highlights...  The Tables are ready...  Little Snacks  One of the teas sampled was our White Raspberry Champagne.   This tea is a delicious, refreshing tea with a touch of sweetness from the raspberry flavoring.   We served this tea iced and we placed fresh raspberries in it for a pretty presentation. Guests Having Fun! This was little Emma's first teatime experience. We were so impressed with her manners!! She is such a lady!! Do these two look like 'mother-daughter' or what!! We think they should enter the mother/daughter contest at the State Fair!! We hope to be hosting more Tea Tasting Events in the future! So be watching!!!
