Happy Birthday Selah!

This past Sunday afternoon, Miss Selah celebrated her 5 year old Birthday Party here at Miss Spenser's!

What a delightful time we had with Selah, her Mommy, cousins, Auntie and Grandmas! The girls were greeted by Miss Spenser dressed in Victorian Costume. The girls (and adults) had the opportunity to dress up in hats, gloves and jewelry.

Trays were adorned with delicious tea time foods - all prepared with a child's palate in mind, to name a few, Grilled Cheese Flower Breads, Pepperoni Pizza Tarts along with scones, banana bread with peanut butter spread, frosted teacakes, gingersnaps and fairy smores. The girls enjoyed Raspberry Lemonade along with cups of Friendship Tea.
What a fun day of celebrating...

    What a perfect way to celebrate. Everything looks lovely. I have a little girl, Lily is her name, and I have been serving her tea with her family every year since she was 4 years old. Now she is 12 years old. What fun memories.

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
