Anticipation ~ Part 2

As we prepared the menu...we took into account the "likes" of those who were going to attend. One of our guests happens to LOVE caramelized onions, so we decided to offer a more unusual tea time savory -- our famous Onion Pie (the recipe is in our Cookbook Vol. II). With that as one of the "focal" points, we decided a great compliment to this entree would be a Roast Beef Croissant Sandwich, from there, other things began to evolve...here's what we came up with:

Roast Beef W/Horseradish Sauce on Croissant

Cherry Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting
Swedish Tea Cookies
Two other Sweets (Guests Bringing)

A Variety of Fragrant Teas


Our friends wanted to contributed to the gathering, so they are bringing a few yummy treats! Thinking the menu looks pretty good so far....will update with pictures once the event is held...Continuing to Anticipate!!!

    The menu looks wonderful...such delicious choices! Mmm...

Last of the Summer Rose: Rose Ice Cream Recipe

The Last of the Summer Roses are Here!  Here's a Recipe for you to enjoy with the last of this year's roses.  Rose Petal Ice Cream 2 C Heavy Cream 1 C Sugar 1 C Rose Petals 2 Tea Spoons of Rose Congou Black Tea 1-2 drops of food coloring In a heavy bottomed saucepan heat milk, sugar, rose petals and Rose Congou Black Tea over moderate heat until almost boiling.   Take off stove; place a lid on top and steep for 20 minutes.   Strain, place in fridge to cool; then process in an ice cream maker.   Serve in chilled glasses with a few rose petals for garnish.   Yields 4 servings.   Keep in mind, the cream makes this Ice Cream rich, so a votive cup of Ice Cream is a perfect serving size.  Enjoy!

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" Mom was the first to get this set of “Cup of Christmas Tea” teacup and teapot. She received them many years ago by a friend in California, Dayna Esquivel. When we moved out here to the country, Mom and I began enjoying tea together in the afternoons. That Christmas Mom found another set of “Christmas Tea” teacups and teapot and purchased them for me! We always get these teacups out at Christmas and sip tea out of them on a regular basis.
