"If I were a bear And a big bear too, I shouldn't much care If it froze or snew; I shouldn't much mind If it snowed or friz - I'd be all fur-lined With a coat like his." ~ Winnie the Pooh Furry Bear, Winnie the Pooh After a cold day out and about running errands... nothing sounds better than curling up with a good book next to a warm fire and of course, a nice hot pot of tea. Even though I don't care so much for this cold weather, I would have to say, I do love these cozy nights!  Today I'm enjoying "Frost on the Pumpkin" Tea in this pretty yellow flower teacup. This teacup was given to Mom and I from our dear friend, Char! It's hand-painted and very dainty. Thank you Char!! Other's Who Are Participating in Teacup Thursday! Recipe Review

Image
A few weeks ago we shared a recipe called " Crustless Apple Pie ". It was a recipe that my Grandma Cherryholmes gave us. She said it was really good so we took her word for it... and this past weekend we ourselves tried out the recipe and Grandma was right, as always, it was really, really good! (And very easy too! Only took 20 mintues to make!) Gathering up the Ingredients Cut and Prepared Apples in Pie Dish Flour, Sugar and Butter Topping! Half of our apple pie has nuts and the other half doesn't because not everyone in our family liked Nuts! Aren't they nutty!! Mmmm... can you smell that!! Yummy! Bon Appetit!

Grandma and Grandpa Cherryholmes Today, I’d like to share with you about my Grandpa Cherryholmes and his new hobby! Ever since Grandpa retired earlier this year, he’s been having so much fun going to tag sales and purchasing teacups! Yes, teacups for my mom and I. His only requirement of the teacup is that it’s from ENGLAND. Here’s a picture of the his most recent purchase. This one was his favorite. He really likes the ones with Flowers and Gold on them! My Grandpa Cherryholmes is one Special Guy! He has a way of making you feel so special and loved! We love you Grandpa! Other's Who Are Participating in Teacup Thursday! Teacup Thursday: "Rose Teacup by Aynsley"

Image
If you Love Roses If you Love the roses ~ so do I. I wish the sky would rain down roses, As they rain f rom off the shaken bush. Why will it not? Then all the valley would be pink and white And soft to tread on. They would fall as light As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be Like sleeping and like waking, all at once! ~George Eliot   We have a large collection of various Rose Teacups, but I'd have to say this is one of my favorite Rose Teacups that we have!  The interesting thing about this teacup is that instead of being white on the inside of the cup, it's pink! A very soft pink... hopefully you'll be able to see that in the picture! Other's Who Are Participating in Teacup Thursday! An Amazing Rescue!

Image
This weekend, our family was in awe of the support system in place here in our country setting. We are so thankful that our neighbor/friend, Julian, Pinion, is doing okay... What was to be a nice fall afternoon turned into sheer moments of fright when his tractor toppled over on top of him while baling hay. We received a call right away from his wife, Patrice. Our guys and a friend working here on our farm that day, ran over to provide help. At that time, we called 911 - It was incredible to see how quickly help came. First to arrive on the scene was a Sheriff, then a wonderful neighbor/paramedic, Jorie Hunnerdosse. We cannot tell you how relieved we were when we saw these two gentlemen arrive within 8-10 minutes of the call. Next, our wonderful neighbor, John Lawyer and his wife, Lori, arrived on the scene. Two other sheriff cars came, the New Virginia Rescue Team, the Indianola Fire/Rescue Team and Life Flight. These men were so calm, extremely confident in what they were doing and

It's Teacup Thursday!! Today, I'd like to share with you a few pictures of the second teacup that I received for my birthday last week.  It's made in England and I believe that the brand is Tuscan. I love the daintiness of this print and its shape! It's very fun to sip tea out of!! Other's Who Are Participating in Teacup Thursday! Journey ~ Girl's Retreat 2010

Image
We were graced with 23 lovely ladies and their two chaperones this past weekend. Journey-Iowa was a retreat for girls ages 14-19. Their goal was to inspire young women to desire and pursue feminine loveliness through Christ. In addition to this, they learned practical advice and ideas on how to apply Christ-like beauty to their daily lives, including the art of social graces, the art of communication and the art of personal presentation. These lovely young ladies graced Miss Spenser and I with a dozen beautiful Pink Roses...we were so touched!! They not only demonstrated the beauty of being a lady, they were equally delightful in their conversations with us. What a fun weekend...thank you Journey-Iowa for allowing us to be a part of your weekend!! If you didn't partake this year...be sure to do so next year!
